Color Block Jam Beginner Checklist Before Your First Move

The five checks

  1. Read the level number directly from the game.
  2. List each door color and note any door that opens, closes, or switches.
  3. Mark ice, chains, ropes, crates, bombs, and countdown objects.
  4. Find the largest open lane and protect it.
  5. If using a walkthrough, compare the opening board and first three moves.

Why scan the whole board?

Rollic’s hard-level guidance says to look at the entire board before dragging the first block. The reason is practical: a local move can change the route of several colors. A board-wide scan turns the first move into a dependency decision rather than a guess.

What if the attempt locks?

Restart with one deliberate change: the first blocker, the first color, or the moment you clear an obstacle. Then record what changed. If the source itself does not match, use Why Your Level Does Not Match.
