What deserves a checkpoint?
Record the board after a key opens a route, a chain changes, an ice obstacle clears, or a shared lane becomes available. These are state transitions, not ordinary taps, and they can change the correct priority.
How should you use the checkpoint?
State the next destination and the prerequisite that remains. If you cannot describe the follow-up, pause and inspect the new route. This prevents an old plan from continuing after its assumptions changed.
Why is this useful for harder levels?
It isolates errors. When a route fails, you know which transition to revisit instead of replaying every move from memory.
