How do you rank obstacles?

Rank them by the number of destinations they affect, the number of alternate routes, and the amount of useful space they release. The most visually prominent obstacle is not always the most important.

What if two blockers affect one route?

Trace from the destination backward and solve the nearer prerequisite only when the next one remains accessible. Clearing the wrong layer can expose space without making the route usable.

When is the obstacle solved?

It is solved when the intended route can actually be used. Treat the changed obstacle state as a checkpoint and rebuild the next dependency from there.
